Microbial Oceanography: where small microbe and big ocean meet in a sea of opportunities
Wednesday 04 November 2015, 16:30

Dra. Camila M. Signori

A general goal of Microbial Oceanography is to observe and understand microbial life in the sea well enough to make accurate ecological predictions. This presentation will summarize some recent findings on this field, such as the structure and dynamics of microbial communities in Antarctica and the Pacific hydrothermal vents, and the role of the microbes across oceanographic factors in different marine ecosystems. I hope to encourage students to dive with me in this challenging sea of opportunities.
