Sharks! They cause fascination in humans. They cause fear in humans. The truth is, we know very little about them and they have more to fear from us than we from them. This presentation will summarise 10 years of elasmobranch research by (mainly Masters) students in the Fishlab at Bangor University. Covering topics such as electrosenses, philopatry, camouflage, hitch-hiking remoras and deep sea sharks, this talk will hopefully encourage students that with a good idea and hard work it is possible to make significant contributions to our scientific understanding of this charismatic but enigmatic taxa.
